Today's fun!

Francine finally made it into the Doctor for her 1 year visit. She is 20lbs 6oz and 31" long. She is long and skinny! Dr said that she looks great. He did mention that he can see her top molars coming in so she may be a little grouchy! :) She cried with the shots, but as soon as she left the room, she was waving bye to all the nurses in the office.

Walt, while Francine was getting checked out, was working on stacking cups. Maybe he will be in one of those cup stacking cups competitions someday.

Thanks Jess

so when we got to LA to visit aunt jess and uncle troy, jess had this super cute dress for Francine, but it turned out to be HUGE on her. Well it is fitting now! This is for you Jessica!

Cousins!!!!

Jennifer came with Maddie down to St Louis to pick up Baxter (who has been with Diane and Wally since the end of June). So we got the 4 kids together. The kids were not happy at all! I was trying to do this for diane and none of the grandkids wanted to cooperate. :)

Almost Almost....

Bathtime!!!!  Walt and Francine both love bathtime, but Francine LOVES bathtime.  Tonight she was very excited.   Walt was much more into taking the bath picture than Francine.

Walt will not like this picture when he is 13....

This is how he fell asleep on the couch......

Trip to Chicago (in June!)

For some reason these pictures kept not getting uploaded to the blog. The Srubas Family added a new girl to their family on June 4, we found out about Sofia on the beach in Santa Monica. I was able to get away for a few days at the end of June to hang out with big sister Claire, Amanda, and proud papa Chris.

PJ Dance Party

Tonight Diane stopped by and picked up the kids after she had a jewelry making class.  The Wichards will have the kids until Sunday.  Before they left we had a little pj dance party in walt's room.  Love Walt's face in these pictures.  Francine was getting tired so her paci didn't want to come out for the pics.

Messy Faces

I think Messy Faces on 1 year olds are so cute!  We couldn't help but to get some pictures from our last night in Des Moines.

Victoria came too

One of the reasons that we decided to stay was that Victoria was coming for the weekend as well.  The kids play great together.  While in Des Moines, Francine really starting walking on her own all the time.  It was pretty fun, everyone loved cheering her on!

off to Iowa

My dad and brother drove back on Sunday, but my mom and I went to the muny on Sunday night and then Monday my mom rode with me and the kids home to Des Moines.  It was great to have another adult with me.  The kids were great in the car we made the almost 7 hour trip with just one stop!  Our plan was to stay in Des moines until Friday, but after a few days we decided to extend the trip through the next Monday.  It was a wonderful stay.  I think a week in Des Moines in the summer will become an annual event.

Happy 8th Anniversary to us!

We celebrated our 8th anniversary by enjoying an awesome night out at the Shaved Duck and after dinner drinks at Niche.

Ladders and Balloons

Next year everyone can bring Francine a balloon for her gift because she LOVES them.  She is still enjoying some of them (those dollar store balloons are lasting a lot longer than I would have guessed).  Anyway, one of the balloons got away from us and stuck around our ceiling fan.  Bob had to get out our ladder to get it free.  Walt wanted to see what it was like....

More Party Pictures

A couple thoughts
1.  Check out those awesome boots in the last picture- gift from Aunt Kelly!
2.  I forgot twice to put on that b-day hat!
3.  Don't you like who is opening all of the presents!

The 1st Brithday Brunch

We decided to do a brunch for Francine's brithday, since sometimes she sleeps all afternoon long.  So we had a waffle station, fruit (thanks to the Soulard Market), ham, and lots of sweet goodies.  We had about 25 people over to help us celebrate an amazing first year of Francine!  We are so thankful to have such amazing friends and family who joined us to celebrate.

Francine is ONE!!!

Hi Friends of the Blog,

I am so sorry that we have fallen behind in the blogging. We have had a super busy past 2 weeks, but we are going to get you caught back up in our life.

Francine turned one on July 8. It was a great day. She spent some time at Peggys house with her best bud Cameron. While I ran around like crazy getting things ready for her brithday brunch the next morning.

She loved hearing "Happy Birthday" which we sang to her all day long. We got a delicious cupcake from The Cup. She loved it! (walt also loved his!) She is walking a few more steps in a row everyday, but she still wants her hand held. We know that she will take off one of these days.
