Not Quite There Yet

Some of you may know this, and others not, but when I was a teenager, I was really into my bike.  A friend and I used to ride our bikes literally all day, but as I got older, my interest waned.  Recently, a co-worker has reignited that interest, and I've been spending a little bit of time fixing that bike back up.  I'm not really sure what my end-goal is here - whether I sell it or give it to Walt when he gets older - but it's been fun to reconnect with my past.  Here are some pictures of Walt that I took a couple of weeks ago before I began the rehab process.

Zoo with Gavin

While Sara and Francine were out shopping with Kelly and Zoe, all of the boys spent the morning hanging out.  We went to turtle park, the zoo, and then lunch.  It clearly took its toll on young Walter.

Balloon Glow

Every summer, there's a balloon race in Forest Park.  To kick it off, they have all of the balloons in a small area and let the common people walk among the enormous balloons.  Here are some pictures of Walt in awe....

Swim Class

Walt just started swim class last week, and this is the first session where a parent isn't in the water with him.  It's very focused training....

Boooo

So this weekend we went from having 2 working cameras to zero! And we had a great weekend! We traveled to Des Moines for a wedding of a close family friend. My mom took some pictures so I will get those up when I get them off her camera in a few weeks.
We are hoping to get a new camera VERY soon. Poor Francine- we are already taking less photos of her and now we have no camera! :)

Walt a mess at school

So turns out walt is quite the jackson pollack!  He came home one day last week with his shorts and shirt covered in paint! Here a picture that Merlene (his "principal") snapped of him at work and face full of paint.

more birthday pictures

Walt turns 3!!!!

Happy Happy Day to Walt.  This year we had a party with a twist.  We did cake and ice cream (and of course Gus' Pretzels) at our house and then the party moved to Benton Park (our neighborhood park).  Benton Park has had 4 concerts in the park this summer and this was the final one.  So there was music, a playground, and food- what a perfect combination for a party.  It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL night.  Walt had a great day.  He got some great gifts, a lot of toy story toys.  His 2 favorite gifts were a sleeping bag (he has been sleeping on the floor in it) and a scooter.  I think I may have a video to post.  Any way, Walt is an amazing boy.  We can't believe how big he is, as everyone says the years really do go fast (even when some days are very long).  Life is really good.

Dad is away the kids will play

Bob had his fantasy football draft Friday night so the kids and I hung out.  Walt was chillin' (and trying to watch The Backyardigans while I took the pictures) and Francine was just so happy!  She is smiling all of the time.

She LOVES the rattle

can't you just see the excitement in her face, she just loves holding the rattle!  Francine is now a mover and a shaker she can roll from her belly to her back and is very close to rolling from her back to belly!  Watch out world....
